[CANCELED] July Monthly Meeting/WORTS Picnic

Unfortunately we have decided to cancel the BBQ on Saturday. Apologies to all who were planning on attending. We will try and reschedule a BBQ in the Fall. Stay posted

The July Monthly meeting for the Worts will also be our annual BBQ. This year we are lucky to be hosted Tom Bell, Wort member and master cider maker at his house in Cohasset. More info to come on food and carpooling. Attached is a map of available parking (click to enlarge)

Slither

It’s time for that dressy slither across Boston, sipping fancy cocktails and sporting sparkly duds.

This year’s Slither theme (by special request) is old-school glitzy hotel bars. The benefits being that they are glamorous by nature, near each other, and less likely to be crowded and noisy (as the trendier spots of our last few Slithers have been.) Here is the itinerary!

Saturday, March 11

The Bar at the Taj, 5:30 – 6:30

Bristol Bar at the Four Seasons, 6:45 – 7:45

Avery Bar at the Ritz Carlton, 8:00 – 9:00

Afterwards, we will be ready for beer!  Stoddard’s Fine Food & Ale 9:00 – ?

All of these are close to the Boston Public Garden and Boston Common, so if you use the T, get off at Arlington (green line) or Park Street (red line).

No need to RSVP- just show up! Note that sometimes people really dig one of the bars and decide to park themselves there for a while and then skip to the last one instead of following the itinerary. Bravo! The schedule is a suggestion, although do not underestimate the thrill of moving in a well-heeled pack of pub crawlers.

NOTE: For first time Slitherers, it’s a Wort winter tradition. A black-tie pub crawl, if you will – although the places we go are fancy and we tend to drink Scotch neat or classic cocktails (at least at the beginning). Women really do wear long dresses, even with snow-crunching boots underneath like the last couple of years. Men wear black-tie, vintage velvet, smoking jackets, top hats and gloves- we’ve seen it all. Grab your sweetie and join!
